This lesson introduces the vocabulary that you will need to know to read and understand our second story.

This story features the “ay” sound made by the letter é. When you’re writing words with this accent mark over the letter “e”. make sure that you slant your accent in the correct direction. When it’s slanted differently, it makes a different sound.

le vélo = the bike
la poupée = the doll
le bébé = the baby
le téléphone = the phone
l’année = the year
un chien /strong> = a dog
bonjour = hello (good day)
bonne année = happy new year (good year)
grand-mère = grandmother
